Where visitors want to go.

Mecca is a holy city in Saudi Arabia.  Visitors come here from all over the world - there are many historical sites.  There are millions of pilgrims who do not know about these historical and scenic places of Makkah.


1: -  Clock Tower 


The Mecca Clock Tower is the tallest clock tower in the world.  It is 40 meters long and 400 meters above the ground.  It is built on top of the Abraaj Al-Bayt Complex in Makkah.  Above the clock is the world's largest moon.  It is 601 meters above the level of the Haram.


2: -  Mountain Elephant 


This gigantic rock is 50 meters high.  It is shaped like an elephant.  That is why it is called the Elephant Mountain.  There are many colorful mountains in the sandy area around the rock.


3: - "Al-Hijra Road 


This is the highway by which the Prophet of Islam traveled from Makkah to Madinah.  There are many places on this highway where the Holy Prophet stayed and important events of migration took place.



4: - Ain Zubeida (Zubeida Canal): 



There is a canal in Mount Arafat.  Arrangements were made to supply water from the Numan Kohistani range to Arafat Square through this canal.  The canal from Arafat to Muzdalifah was built during the Abbasid period.  The canal was built by Queen Zubeida, the wife of Caliph Harun al-Rashid, on the occasion of her pilgrimage.



5: -  Jabal Al Noor 


Some historians call it Jabal al-Islam.  Jabal in Arabic means mountain.  It means the mountain of Islam.  Here is the green cave where the first revelation was revealed to the Prophet of Islam.


6: - Cave Hira: 


 It is located at an altitude of 634 meters and is part of Jabal al-Noor.  Makkah is located east of Mukarramah.  Its distance from Masjid al-Haram is four kilometers.  Arafat is on the left.



7: - Cave of Thor 


It is located in the mountain of the same name.  Jabal Thaur is located four kilometers south of the Masjid al-Haram.  The cave is 1.25 meters high and is built in Fadar rock.  It has two mouths.  One is to the west from which the Prophet of Islam and Abu Bakr Siddiq entered - the other is to the east.

Visitors come here to buy gifts.  Handicrafts are common.  There are several markets and cafes on this street.



8: -  Arabian Peninsula 


It is located between Makkah Jeddah Road and Makkah Taif Road.  Locals, foreigners and visitors come here for sightseeing while there are also shops.  Arab Park has e-games hall and walking track.



9: - Al-Husseiniya Public Park 


It's for kids, adults - a variety of sports facilities, including football, and walking tracks.  There are also restaurants and greens.  Al-Husseiniya Public Park has various sports facilities.



10: - Haramain Sharifeen Museum 


The Haramain Sharifeen Museum is located in the Umm Al-Jawd neighborhood of Makkah.  Next to it is the Shroud Kaaba factory.  The history of the Masjid al-Haram and the Masjid al-Nabawi from the Umayyad period to the present day is highlighted here.  Samples of the shroud of the Ka'bah, doors of the Baitullah Sharif and fragments of the pillars are also kept here.  There is also a hall for manuscripts.


11: - Mecca Museum 


The Mecca Museum was established as a school in 1952 - then it was dedicated to the historical heritage of Mecca and the Hijaz.  It is adorned with antiquities from Makkah and Saudi Arabia that date back to prehistoric times.  There are also halls highlighting geological history.



12: - المعلاۃ قبرستان 


Al-Ma'alah Cemetery is located at the foot of Jabal Al-Hajoon.  It is so named because it is located in the upper part of Makkah.  There are many more cemeteries here.  There is also a cemetery where the dead were buried in pre-Islamic times.
